Gary takes family fishing for silvers on the Kenai River

We headed down the river and set up in one of Gary's favorite spots.  It wasn't too long
before Brenda caught her first fish...yeah Brenda!!

 Today was the day that my brother Gary said he was going to take family out to fish for silver salmon on the Kenai River. My youngest sister Brenda, her youngest daughter, Andrea and myself are the ones who went out to fish. John was going to go but he was involved in getting his home ready for winter so he couldn't go with us.
Gary is a licensed guide for fishing on the Kenai River and has "Alaska Fish On" guide service.
We all met at the parking lot of the River Bend Campground and loaded up the boat to head out a little after noon.

We tied off with a buoy on the end of the anchor line and fished until someone got one on and then released, started the motor, and drifted backwards while the fish was being reeled in and netted. the sun came out to keep us a bit warmer than the outside temps that had been 29 degrees a few hours earlier.

 Brenda got two nice salmon and Andrea got two beauties too. We spent about 4 hours on the river and caught some very nice salmon to finish off the afternoon.

 Gary wouldn't let me get a picture of him with his salmon before he put it in the hold with the others so I grabbed a quick shot of him right before he put it in there. Guess it is a butt shot!!

Today's fishing ended up producing a great supper for Everett and I after he got home from Anchorage!
