June 11th halibut fishing

Aaahh, a trip to Homer towing the Kenai Keeper and a cooler of people food and one to put fresh fish in...yup..got to use both for their intended purposes.
This is Everett with the halibut that I caught. He says it was the biggest one that we caught..I dunno 'bout that. I do know that we had a great time and Gus did great on the whole trip. He did, however, think maybe he needed to 'protect' us from those flopping fishy smelling things on the deck of the boat as they came on board. He was in full protection mode with his back legs stiff and quivering all over. He gave the same performance for the seagull that got too close and the grey cod that visited for a short time.
Here are all four of our bag limit in the big cooler ready for the trip back to the dock at the Homer Spit.
The daily limit is 2 per person so we did just fine. Right before we headed back it was getting a little windy and the whitecaps were showing off towards Seldovia area. The boat did great, the anchor went up and down with the windlass motor and the E Tec motor was exceptionally terrific. I am so very glad that we got the hydraulic air ride seats in there. They really even out the rough ride. We got home around midnight and now it is a little over 12 hours later and time to finish cleaning them and get them vac. sealed for later dinners. Of course, we will enjoy some fresh tonight and share with Momma Giggles and Big Daddy. While we were out getting the fresh halibut, Anthony (Tony) was at Kasilof getting me a fresh sockeye salmon. Yummmmm, can hardly wait for supper time (maybe I will have to sample a little of both in the saute' pan with some butter and garlic?)
How do you like your fish?
