Homer halibut trip with Aliss and Zack

On Sunday we loaded in to the crewcab and left Sterling for a fishing trip in Homer. The sun was shining nicely and it was a good drive 90 miles to the south of us. We got the Kenai Keeper launched and Everett worked on getting new line on reels and preparing us for the halibut fishing. I drove the boat out the 8 miles+_ to 'the spot'.
We were there for a while and then when we went to check our bait, we found that I had 'caught' Everett's line and then Aliss caught him and Zack brought his up with a Pacific grey cod on it. He kept it near the top and it released itself and took off to the bottom again. We were doing the 'check the bait' again and he discovered that he had more resistance on the line and grandpa declared that Zack had a fish on!!! It took him some burning muscles and a bit of time BUT he brought in his first ever halibut!! What fun to watch him.
I am really looking forward to the continued fishing adventures and fun times with my grandchildren!!! woohoo..........
